Flovac was awarded the contract for the design and supply on the Muang Thong Banga residential development on a 13 hectare site, 18 kilometres east of Bangkok in 1992.
The development consisted of 26 eleven story residential buildings containing 5,700 apartments. A commercial centre was also planned which included retail outlets, tennis centres and movie theatres as well as a swimming pool.
A Flovac system was chosen because of the highly unstable ground conditions where the flexibility of the vacuum system would be essential. PE pipes were used for the vacuum mains of 250 mm diameter.
This was the highest flow system ever attempted at 230 l/s and the first high rise development ever attempted. large multiple valve pits were located at the base of each building and on each side of the building. It was also the first vacuum sewerage project ever done in Thailand.
Due to the economic crisis a new development was built on the site during the mid 2000’s.
