Project Overview
Client: District Council of Barunga West
Location: Fisherman Bay, South Australia, a coastal holiday community on the Yorke Peninsula
Challenge: Convert a long-established holiday town from individual septic tanks to a reticulated sewer scheme coping with strong seasonal population swings, minimising disruption to residents, and proving a genuinely better long-term option than the alternatives.
Key Outcomes:
- Septic tanks across roughly 400 dwellings successfully replaced with a reticulated vacuum sewer network
- A system chosen for its ability to handle strong seasonal flow swings without oversizing infrastructure for a town that empties out for much of the year
- Installation completed with minimal disruption to an established town of existing homes and narrow lots
- Since commissioning, verified operating data confirming low energy use and design accuracy with full reports linked below
